The band has been playing together for three years. They play with a confidence and energy which engages the audience whilst still managing to create a good vibe and relaxed atmosphere. Nose 4 Jazz have performed as resident band for two Whangarei venues. The band performs regularly at weddings and corporate functions.

Hermann Otto - Valve Trombone, Keys
Hermann is a professional music teacher and regular performer in northland jazz circles. His unique interpretation of jazz standards and virtuoso trombone playing gives the Nose 4 Jazz sound its voice.

Martin Rylev - Bass
Martin has been a professional musician for 23 years: 4 & 5 str. electric Bass and double bass. Martin is from Denmark and now lives in Whangarei. He has played with various Danish bands and toured Northern and Eastern Europe and played in Miami, New York and Cuba.

Jim Lawrie - Drums
Jim is also a professional music teacher. His creative approach to jazz drumming comes from an eclectic musical background. Jim has been at the forefront of the New Zealand popular music scene for many years playing with many of the countries top artists at venues throughout the country.

Aaron Wright - Guitar
Aaron has a Bachelor of Music degree from Waikato University and is now HOD of music at Bay of Islands College. As well as studying classical music he has been involved in projects in the popular and jazz genres. He is responsible for providing the harmonic context in Nose 4 Jazz.
